Grade 9s Hit the Slopes at Brimacombe

On Monday, January 19 our Grade 9 Outdoor Education classes enjoyed a day at Brimacombe, taking on the thrill of alpine skiing. All students participated in lessons, building skills and confidence in preparation for the upcoming all-school Ted Pope Day on Thursday, February 5.

Many students challenged themselves, experiencing alpine skiing alongside their peers, while others refined their technique. This trip is part of a broader Grade 9 OE program where students explore three types of skiing—classic, skate, and alpine—with the goal of discovering winter activities they enjoy and may pursue for years to come.

Preparation was key: students planned ahead, discussed winter safety, and learned how to navigate the slopes responsibly. The Brimacombe trip not only strengthened skills but also set the stage for a fun and safe full day on the snow this Thursday.
