Athlete of the Month: September 2020
The Athletics Department has introduced a new award, Grove Athlete of the Month. This award is given to one boy and one girl at the end of every month, who demonstrate good sportsmanship and excel in their given co-curricular.
Thomas ’22 is the recipient of our first award for September and is participating in cross country running. Coach Rory Gilfillan commented that Thomas is more than an athlete and is, instead, an acolyte of endurance. Thomas spent the summer hitting high mileage, reading about running and reflecting on the nature of speed and fortitude.
Abigayle ’21 received the second award for September 2020 for her participation in basketball. Her coaches nominated Abigayle for her hard work on form shooting, being a leader among the team who always has a smile and is always up for a new challenge.
