October Intersession 2022

This week, our students enjoyed their second intersession experience of the school year! With programming developed for each grade level, intersession days offer unique opportunities for students to reflect on, question, and engage in activities designed to complement and enrich their in-class learning experience.

Students were immersed in a variety of activities on- and off-campus activities designed to enrich their individual learning experiences.

Grade 12
Our Grade 12 students went on university tours to explore the University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, Queen's University, Guelph University, Laurier University, and Waterloo University. University applications are due in 3 months and our Grads are already busy weighing their options and exploring which schools and programs are best suited to their goals and passions.

Grade 11
Our Grade 11s spent the day in learning sessions about Impersonal Consent, Cultures of Consent, and Global Citizenship. They also participated in a Build-a-Hand workshop through Odyssey Teams. More than just a team-building activity, our students made a meaningful impact by assembling prosthetic hands that will be donated to amputees who cannot afford prosthetic devices around the world.

Grade 10
Our Grade 10s planned for the Santa Claus parade, for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peterborough, and participated in stewardship activities. Namely, they baked apple crisps with Chef Evan Podd, which were then donated to our neighbours at the Lakefield Community Foodbank.

Grade 9
Our Grade 9s participated in Treaty Recognition Week activities and ventured to Peterborough to go bowling.

It was great to see everyone connect outside of the classroom and learn valuable skills and information that will serve them throughout the rest of the school year!
