LCS Students Gain Business Skills and Make Lasting Memories at 44th Annual DECA Competition
This week, four LCS students travelled to Toronto to compete in the 44th Annual DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Provincial Competition, held at the Toronto Sheraton Centre. Our students participated in Team Decision Making Events for Entrepreneurship and Travel and Tourism, where they were given 30 minutes to prepare a 15-minute presentation on a real-life case study.
Participating in DECA competitions provides students with an opportunity to develop essential skills in areas such as teamwork, critical thinking, and communication. The competition also offers a chance to network with industry professionals and gain exposure to real-world business scenarios. By competing in DECA, students can gain a better understanding of the business world, and gain experience that can help them succeed in future academic and career pursuits.
While they may not have taken home top prizes, they gained valuable experience and made lasting memories. Participating in DECA will undoubtedly serve as a valuable learning experience that will help these students in their future endeavours. We commend Griffin ’23, Nathan ’24, Hayden ’23, and Cole ’23 for their hard work and dedication, and for representing their school with excellence.
