The Ondaatje Challenge has a long and respected history at Lakefield College School and it consists of four distinct events (a 10km run, 15km bike ride, 3km solo paddle, and 800m swim) and three levels of recognition—a hearty handshake for those completing any of the four events, a certificate for those completing all four events, and the prestigious Ondaatje medal for the few that meet the time standard of excellence for all four events.
On Monday, April 17, the Ondaatje Medal Challenge began with the 10km time trial on the Rotary Trail in Lakefield. The chilly spring weather was welcomed by students who were happy to have a refreshing breeze cool them down.
Congratulations to all runners who came out!
