Lakefield College School Introduces On-Site Physiotherapy Service for Students

Lakefield College School is pleased to announce the launch of a new on-site physiotherapy service, providing students with convenient access to professional treatment.

Beginning this week, students will have access to physiotherapy services every Friday afternoon at the school's Health Center. This initiative eliminates transportation barriers and reduces wait times that students previously faced when seeking physiotherapy treatment at external clinics.

Leading this new service is Becca Watson, MScPT, Hons BKin, Dip. Sport PT, who is already familiar to the LCS community as the sideline therapist for most of the school's home athletic games. Watson brings extensive experience and impressive credentials to her new role.

Watson graduated from Western University with an Honours Specialization in Kinesiology, where she captained her varsity lacrosse team to four consecutive undefeated championships. She furthered her education at Oxford Brookes University in England, completing a Masters in Physiotherapy while competing for both the Brookes Lacrosse team and Oxford University hockey team.

Her impressive portfolio includes serving as part of the medical staff for the Peterborough Senior Lakers, Wolverines Football, and Peterborough Rowing Club. She has also worked at the international level, serving as physiotherapist for Team Canada in the World Rowing Championships and as a therapist at the World Track and Field Championships in Tokyo.

"This service represents a significant enhancement to our student support services," said athletic director Adam Ross. "Having professional physiotherapy available on-site will ensure our students receive timely treatment and can maintain their academic and athletic commitments more effectively."

Students and parents interested in booking an appointment can contact Meghan in the LCS Health Center at mhone@lcs.on.ca.

The introduction of on-site physiotherapy services reflects Lakefield College School's ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive health and wellness support for its student community.
