Whether you are a new or returning student, we are so excited that you will be joining us for your Grade 12 year at LCS. Preparations are well underway to welcome you to the school, and to help everyone feel at home at The Grove as you begin your GRAD YEAR!

Just in case you’re starting to wonder what the beginning of your Grad Year will look like, here’s an overview of the first few weeks of September.

    • Afternoon: Your Grad year formally starts the moment you gather in the Chapel to begin
      your Grad Leadership Conference.
    • Early Evening: You will eat dinner in House groups to give you time to connect with your Head of House and House Team to start to plan your welcome strategy and first house events for the Grade 9-11 students.
    • Late Evening: There will be time to connect with friends and more fully unpack as you enjoy a campfire down at the waterfront and then time in your house.
Our hope is that by the end of the day, our new Grads will begin to feel at home at The Grove.

Algonquin Expedition

List of 1 items.

  • Tuesday, September 9 - Friday, September 12

Our Grade 12s will be preparing for, and heading out on, their three-night, four-day Algonquin Expedition. They will depart for Algonquin Park on early Tuesday, September 9, and return to campus by 4pm on Friday, September 12. Students will travel in house groups with two staff members, canoeing, portaging, preparing meals over camp stoves and sleeping in tents.
To allow you to be fully present and engaged with those around you during these experiences, we will be limiting cell phone usage. We will ensure that lots of photos are taken and made available. This will also be communicated to your parents ahead of time so that they are not expecting communication from you during the day. You may want to let your friends from home know this as well.

At the end of these two weeks, it is our hope that you feel at home within our community and ready to dive into learning and life at The Grove!
