DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Community Experience

The truest measure of our ongoing journey with diversity, equity and inclusion work is represented within the lived experience of each of our community members—current and prospective students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, donors, and friends of LCS.

Committed to Continuous Improvement

We know that fostering a truly equitable and inclusive community requires dedication and continual focus. In addition to our work to ensure leadership and accountability, programming, and policies and processes that champion the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), we must take measure of our community experience.

LCS is committed to continuous improvement and to:
  • Identifying how we can better foster feelings of safety and inclusivity within our community and beyond.
  • Examining our biases and creating a culture that engages unfamiliar ideas, perspectives, and people to create the conditions for dramatic and meaningful growth, and change, when necessary.
  • Ensuring open conversations with LCS alumni to understand the experiences we’ve helped to create in the past, in order to determine the best path forward for our current students
  • Engaging those with DEI expertise to assist us in conducting a detailed, data-driven assessment of the state of DEI at LCS
  • Reviewing how we connect and communicate with each other (including through our online and official channels) both to share our progress, and to ensure we are fostering an environment of inclusivity
We strongly believe that the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion are integral to the delivery of our school mission and are intrinsically aligned with our school values. We are firmly committed to taking a close look at how we can continually do better, both for the students of today as well as for the generations of students yet to come. While this is an ongoing journey, we pledge to do our utmost to equip our students to be leaders who care, connect and contribute, and who embody and champion the cherished principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
