On the evening of October 6, 2025, the Lakefield College School community came together by the waterfront to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival — also known as the Moon Festival. The gathering was a beautiful blend of tradition, culture, and connection, set beneath the glow of a full autumn moon.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally observed on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunar calendar, a time when the moon is believed to be at its brightest and roundest of the year. It marks the end of the summer harvest and is a cherished occasion for reflection, gratitude, and unity.
At LCS, the evening offered more than a cultural celebration — it was an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to share in food, music, and friendship. Attendees enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes, live music, and the warm atmosphere of community gathered by the water. Lanterns lit the evening and added to the sense of connection and celebration under the glowing moon.
The event was a vibrant reminder of the value of tradition and the joy of sharing cultural experiences. For our community, the Mid-Autumn Festival was not only a celebration of harvest and moonlight, but also a celebration of friendship, diversity, and the beauty of coming together.
