On Friday, February 6, three Lakefield College School students represented LCS at the Annual DECA Provincial Competition in Toronto, held at the Toronto Sheraton Centre.
Claire ’29 competed in an Individual Event for Principles in Business Management and Administration, while Brandon ’26 and Kevin ’26 teamed up for a Financial Services Team Decision Making Event. The students faced a challenging format, preparing two 10-minute presentations on real-life case studies in just 60 minutes, followed by a 70-minute multiple-choice exam consisting of 100 questions.
While no LCS students advanced to the World Competition this year, their performance demonstrated remarkable dedication, skill, and resilience. The experience offered valuable opportunities to apply classroom learning in high-pressure, real-world scenarios, and the students gained insights that will serve them well in future business and leadership endeavors.
The LCS community congratulates Claire, Brandon, and Kevin for their hard work and commitment to excellence in DECA.
