The Grade 10 Biology curriculum provides an opportunity for students to learn about cells, tissues and systems of living organisms.
After completing a full virtual dissection on their laptops, last week, Ms. Boomgaardt's Grade 10 Biology classes had the opportunity to study the organs and organ systems of a frog experientially through their participation in an (optional) frog dissection.
This activity provided an excellent overview of the organ systems of a complex living organism with many similarities to our own. For many, the opportunity to learn about the organ systems of the frog using all of their senses (literally!) was an engaging and rewarding process.
The discovery of up to 5 beetles inside one frog's stomach made the experience all the more visceral! We were all grateful for the support and guidance of Mr. Clutton during the lab.
