Bad Hats Theatre Workshop

By Alison McElwain

On February 12, students in the Grade 12 Drama class participated in a full-day physical theatre workshop with the members of Bad Hats Theatre. In December, these students attended Bad Hat’s production of Peter Pan. It was a thrill to have these same artists on campus, teaching our students ways to make forests from their bodies, and inhabit characters from children’s stories.

These students are in the midst of creating children’s theatre shows, based on the works of Julia Donaldson’s The Gruffalo and A Gold Star for Zog. They will present their plays to 400 local kindergarten students on March 6. This workshop was a crucial part of the students creation process.
