Grade Reps Launch LCS Peregrine Positivity Project

In a world filled with challenging headlines, our Grade reps have decided to respond with action. Through the Peregrine Leadership program, they have taken part in the newly created Peregrine Positivity Project — an initiative that encourages schools, organizations, and families across Canada to actively promote kindness, leadership, and community.

As part of the project, our Grade reps created a video showcasing what kindness and leadership look like at LCS. You can watch their video here. We encourage our parents and families to share this video to help spread positivity beyond our school community.

Below, Grade 11 Representative Sadie Mabbott shares a message to our LCS community about this initiative:

Dear LCS Parents and Families,

Over the past few weeks, it has been difficult to ignore the steady stream of challenging headlines and heavy news stories. As a school community committed to leadership, integrity, compassion, and service, we believe that how we respond in moments like this matters deeply.
This week, our Grade 11 Representatives have chosen to respond with action.

Through Peregrine Leadership, an organization that supports our Grade 11 LCV program and hosts the Ontario Student Leadership Conference and the Global Student Leadership Summit, our students have stepped forward to participate in the newly created Peregrine Positivity Program.

This initiative challenges schools, organizations, and families across the country to actively promote kindness, leadership, and community over the next two weeks.

Rather than “hunkering down,” we as students chose to lean in.

The grade reps have created and submitted a video highlighting what kindness looks like at LCS — in classrooms, in hallways, in team environments, and in the everyday interactions that shape us and our school community. Our message is simple but powerful: leadership begins with how we treat one another.

This campaign is grounded in the words of Martin Luther King Jr.:
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

As a school community, we will spend the next two weeks intentionally choosing light.
The LCS Peregrine Positivity Project is a reminder to our students that leadership is not passive. It is lived daily — in courage, in kindness, and in choosing to act when in times would be easier to stay silent.

Thank you for supporting us as we continue to develop as leaders who hope to leave a lasting impact.

Best Regards,

Sadie Mabbott, Grade 11 Representative (alongside the Grade Reps and LCV Team)
