Navigating the Horizon: The Grade 11 University Springboard Series 2026
As our Grade 11 students look toward the horizon of their post-secondary lives, LCS’s Guidance Department is thrilled to launch the 2026 Springboard Series. This program is more than just a planning phase; it is an individualized journey of discovery designed to help students bridge the gap between their current passions and their future potential. Springboard is a dynamic series of thematic workshops and large-scale events that bring the world of higher education directly to our campus.
Global Pathways & Specialized Workshops
To help students narrow their focus, we have curated a schedule of deep-dive sessions into specific regions and disciplines. These lunchtime workshops allow students to explore the nuances of different educational systems and career trajectories:
Essential Foundations: The series kicks off on March 26 with a crucial session on Scholarships & Financial Aid, ensuring students are equipped with the tools to fund their ambitions.
Thematic Deep Dives: From Global Business (April 9) and Global STEM (April 16) to Global Liberal Arts (April 20) and Global Direct Entry Medicine (April 28), students can attend sessions tailored to their specific academic interests.
Regional Spotlights: Dedicated sessions for the USA (April 7 & 14) and the UK & Ireland (April 23 & 30) offer insights into international application processes and campus cultures.
Large-Scale Events & Experiential Discovery
Beyond the classroom workshops, Springboard 2026 will feature major milestone events designed to broaden perspectives and provide tangible networking opportunities:
Career Day (April 13): A chance for students to engage with professionals and envision the real-world applications of their studies.
University Fair (April 27): A high-energy event where students can meet representatives from a wide range of institutions.
Canadian University Research & Tours: In May, the focus shifts closer to home with a dedicated day for Canadian University Research (May 4), culminating in the Ontario University Campus Tours on May 29.
A Journey Tailored to Your Student
The Springboard Series is designed to be flexible and supportive, with self-reflection at the heart of the process. By engaging with these diverse opportunities, students will move from broad exploration to concrete goal-setting. By the time applications open next fall, every current Grade 11 student will have a clearer sense of their direction, backed by the research and insights gained throughout this spring.
We look forward to seeing the "aha!" moments that this season of discovery will surely bring. For more information on specific sessions, please contact your student’s guidance counsellor.
