April was an exciting month across the LCS Arts, with student artists demonstrating creativity, commitment, and leadership across music, performance, visual art, and arts programming. Each of our nominees stood out not only for their individual accomplishments, but for the way they contributed to and strengthened the wider arts community.
This month’s nominees are:
Ryan ’29 — for his exceptional musical involvement this term, including performances at CISMF, with the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Rock Choir, as well as composing Clash of the Kingdoms, which premiered at the Spring Concert.
Liam ’29 — for his culminating sculpture, created outside of class time, demonstrating strong artistic vision, creativity, and intrinsic motivation.
Colson ’26 — for winning this year’s Seb Jones Poetry Slam, as well as for his participation in multiple onstage performances during the Spring Concert.
Sophie ’26 — for her leadership in organizing the Seb Jones Poetry Slam, with her production work playing a key role in the event’s success and in promoting poetry as an art form throughout April.
Karen ’26 — for her outstanding musical performances in the Spring Concert with both the String Ensemble and Lorelei Consort, as well as her participation in CISMF.
After careful consideration, we are pleased to announce that the April Artist of the Month is Ryan Jennings ’29!
Congratulations to all of our nominees for their outstanding contributions to the LCS Arts and for representing the creativity, dedication, and passion that define our artistic community.
