LCS Parent Volunteer Appreciation Lunch

In honour of National Volunteer Week, Lakefield College School welcomed core parent volunteers on Monday, April 20 for a special appreciation lunch recognizing the meaningful impact of volunteerism across our community.
The afternoon brought together parents who give their time in a variety of ways throughout the year—from supporting events and welcoming new families, to helping behind the scenes with decorations, hospitality, and community-building initiatives. Over lunch, school leaders shared remarks of gratitude and appreciation, highlighting how deeply valued this collective effort is in shaping the LCS experience for students and families alike.
A special part of the gathering included reflections from Grad parents, who shared insights drawn from their time at LCS and the lasting importance of parent involvement in building connection, belonging, and school spirit. The conversation also created space for collaborative thinking about new ways to further strengthen community engagement in the years ahead.
As part of the celebration, LCS recognized two parents, Chantal McCulloch and Katie McCall, for their longstanding and dedicated contributions to the school community. Their commitment reflects the spirit of generosity and involvement that defines the LCS parent volunteer network.
Most importantly, the lunch served as a heartfelt reminder that volunteerism at LCS is not only about events and support roles—it is about creating a culture of care, connection, and belonging for all students and families.
To every parent who gives their time, energy, and care: thank you. Your contributions are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated, and they continue to make a meaningful difference in our school community every day.
