Celebrating Excellence: Grade 11 Students Reach New Heights

This month, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the individual enrichment pursuits of Grade 11 students Audrey, Jasmine, and Majo. These three young women have demonstrated exceptional dedication, securing spots in some of the most competitive programs and competitions in the world.

Audrey has achieved a massive milestone in the literary arts by being accepted into the Iowa Young Writers' Studio (IYWS). Widely regarded as the "Ivy League" of teen writing, this program is one of the most selective in the world. Audrey will engage in the rigorous "Workshop Method"—the same format used to train literary giants like Kurt Vonnegut and John Irving. To put this in perspective, acceptance to the IYWS is the literary equivalent of an athlete making a National team.

In the realm of science and leadership, Jasmine has been selected as a 2026 Future MD Award Recipient. This national distinction, awarded by PreMedSKL, is reserved for only 50 Grade 11 students across Canada who demonstrate academic excellence and a genuine curiosity for medicine. As a recipient, Jasmine will enter a year-long mentorship program guided by physicians and residents from Canada’s leading hospitals.

Finally, Majo has proven herself a formidable voice on the global stage. Competing in the ReSolved Public Speaking Competition hosted by Branksome Hall, she ranked an impressive 4th out of 120 contenders worldwide. Majo now advances to the semi-finalist elimination round, where she will compete against 21 other top students for a coveted spot in the finals—an all-expenses-paid debate in Toronto this April.

Congratulations to Audrey, Jasmine, and Majo for these outstanding individual achievements!
