Each year, in May, the entire Lakefield College School community comes together for Regatta Day. We celebrate springtime, being outdoors, and our beautiful waterfront campus with activities for everyone.
Students, parents, alumni and staff, plan to experience all of your favourite Regatta Day traditions. We have a full schedule of events lined up from a BBQ lunch and music, sailing and canoe races to the adventure challenge, and the Strawberry Tea.

Sailing Races
Westwood Cup and Arsenault CupThe Westwood Cup Sailing Race - which pits together sailors in a two-crewed racing fleet - will kick off waterfront festivities followed by the second annual Arsenault Cup windsurfing race! Races run on the same course and participation is open to everyone of all skill levels. Those relatively new to sailing can be paired with a more experienced skipper! If you prefer to stay on dry land, sailing races are an amazing spectacle of camaraderie and competition so, be sure to join the crowd along the shores of Katchewanooka Lake and cheer on sailors.Watch for Pre Registration for sailing races! -
Canoe Races
An LCS tradition that you don’t want to miss! Students, parents, alumni, and staff are all welcome to jump in a canoe and take part in one of Regatta Day’s most popular events. Paddle your way through this year’s roster of exciting races: 4 in a Canoe, Open Tandem, “Hurry Scurry” (a tradition since 1906), Solo, Alumni Tandem, Family Tandem and Tandem Gunwale.Watch for Pre Registration for sailing races!

Adventure Challenge
Get a team together and prepare to be challenged on foot and on water! The Adventure Challenge is designed to test your abilities at a variety of favourite Outdoor Education activities. Organized around campus, the event will begin with a canoe race, followed by a portage, and finally culminate with a mystery challenge. This event will satisfy the adventurer in everyone, testing your endurance and outdoor skills. Teams must consist of 4 people and must be co-ed (at least one male and one female per team).Student alumni and parent teams welcome!

Strawberry Tea
The sweetest part of the day! Enjoy a delicious dessert and beverages served in traditional-style. Be sure to join us down at the waterfront for a Regatta Day favourite: loads of whip cream and fresh strawberries atop a homemade biscuit… need we say more?
