Spring & Full-Year Co-Curricular Awards: Celebrating Creativity, Teamwork, and Growth

On June 2, Lakefield College School gathered as a community to celebrate the achievements of its vibrant co-curricular programs—both spring term and full-year—highlighting the creativity, curiosity, leadership, and spirit that define the LCS experience.

With nearly 100 co-curricular opportunities spanning athletics, the arts, enrichment, and values-based initiatives, LCS students engage well beyond the classroom, often balancing four or more programs over the year. From championship-winning athletes to passionate performers and innovative makers, this year’s programs once again reflected the diversity of student interests and talents at The Grove.

“Our full-year co-curriculars offer so many ways for students to explore, connect, and grow,” shared Sarah Young, Program Area Leader for the Arts. “It’s inspiring to see how many students embraced these opportunities—from aviation and debating to environmental leadership, music, wellness, and math competitions. And this spring, the cast and crew of She Kills Monsters wowed us with a production that was both deeply moving and wildly fun.”

The athletic program also had much to celebrate. “Wins and championships are great,” said Director of Athletics Adam Ross, “but what we hope students take away are the friendships and memories built on their teams. This spring, we had a lot of great moments, including a CISAA championship win for our Ultimate Frisbee team and strong performances at OFSAA in both badminton and tennis.”

As the year wrapped up, students were recognized for their outstanding contributions across 25 spring term programs and 30 full-year co-curriculars, a testament to their commitment to personal growth, teamwork, and learning.

Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients, and to every student and facilitator who helped make 2024/25 a remarkable year.
