No lunch time at LCS is busier or more fun than Walk Around the World.
Last week, students and staff were treated to dishes prepared by both our very own students from countries around the world and the Aramark staff.
Students worked tirelessly over the days prior to the event to prepare traditional foods from their home cultures. Dishes from Mexico, Malaysia, Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua, Bermuda, Canada, USA, Turkey, Cayman Islands, Germany, Nigeria, Taiwan, China, Japan, Venezuela, Brazil, Morocco and Romania filled the plates of all who attended.
Hadden Hall was filled with the fragrant smells of spices from around the world, blended perfectly with the cultural music being played for all to hear. Flags adorned the walls (and sometimes even the students) and the day took on a feeling of celebration.
There is always lots to celebrate at Walk Around the World—we celebrate culture and diversity, good food and how sharing with friends is so special, the efforts of our students who worked so hard to create some truly remarkable dishes, and we celebrate how special it is to have come from so many different cultures and be united as one special community here at LCS.
