LCS Dance Company Presents an Elemental Showcase

Against the backdrop of the setting sun over Lake Katchewanooka, the LCS Dance Company performed an outdoor dance showcase for our school community at the waterfront on Friday, October 2. In three short weeks, students choreographed and practiced for the show which blew away attendees as they enjoyed a rare live arts performance.

The showcase was made up of four dances which represented the four elements: air, earth, water and fire. It took the dedication of each and every dancer to be able to come together as a team and work towards a common goal. The joy of students being able to express themselves through the arts along with our ability to gather together safely again on campus was summarized best as one dancer remarked afterwards: “That was so fun. It felt like Lakefield - like home.”

Our teachers nominated the LCS Dance Company for the September Artist of the Month award for their outstanding achievement, dedication and hard work with a special shout out to our Dance Captains who choreographed and led the team: Valentina ’21, Catherine ’21, Meeri ’21 and Sydney ’21.
