Inaugural LCS Halloween Regatta

By Mr. Garret Hart

On Wednesday, the LCS Sailing Team celebrated the season by hosting the first LCS Halloween Regatta!

Conditions were perfect with moderate winds, calm water and bright sunshine. Five boats were competing for the top spot and a chance to beat Head Coach Sarah Sackville who sailed with different crew members in each of the three races. Sarah, who sails for the Queens University Varsity sailing team was able to demonstrate both the techniques and tactics earned her boat line honours in each race.

Alastair Ward '22 was the top student skipper with a couple of very impressive starts and three second-place finishes. The Sailing Team will wrap up their season next week and spend the winter dreaming of racing again in the spring.
