Athletics Action | 2022 CISAA Snowboarding Race

This week, our Snowboarding team took to the slopes for the first 2022 CISAA Snowboarding event of the season at Craigleith Ski Club in Collingwood, Ontario. After an extended break from competitive snowboarding (due to COVID), our students were thrilled to safely compete once again.

“Our athletes showed that not having the traditional start to the season would not slow them down. We trained on our own Matthew’s hill and brought that determination to the races yesterday. For many of our athletes, this was their first completion in two years, and for over half the team, their first time competitively racing. Everyone should be so proud of getting out there and showing CISAA what LCS is made of!" - Ms. King, Snowboarding Coach

Mr. Lind, Snowboarding Coach and Associate Faculty said, "We have been training hard and having a lot of fun this season and it's so great to finally see how our snowboarding team stacks up against the competition.”

Congratulations to Ashwyn ’24, Alexis ’25, and Willow ’24 who placed third, fourth, and fifth respectively in the U16 category. Suzanne ’23 and Matthew ’23 also achieved excellent scores, finishing in second and fifth place respectively in the U20 category. Well done, snowboarders!
