LCS Parents Plan a Buzz-worthy Appreciation Event for Faculty & Staff

LCS Faculty and Staff were in for a treat as they arrived at Upper Hadden Hall for a staff meeting this week. Greeted by parents wearing cheerful yellow t-shirts and surrounded by delightful bee-themed decorations, they were surprised with an appreciation event to show gratitude for their hard work and dedication. The event was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved and the morning was filled with laughter, smiles, and sustenance.

LCS parents had been planning this event for weeks and it was easy to see how much care and attention they put into making this a special moment for our community.

The bee-themed decorations were a thoughtful touch, reminding everyone of the unique and innovative learning opportunities available at LCS. Delicious food and beverages from local businesses were enjoyed by everyone. And, a gratitude kudo board was also a touching addition, as parents left heartfelt messages of thanks and appreciation for faculty and staff members.

A highlight of the morning was the program, which included an address from Kim Blackwell P '24 and Evan '23 and Charlie '23, a joyful rendition of Sweet Caroline sung by our students (donning playful bumblebee wings and antennae), and some kind words from Ms. Kee. It left everyone feeling grateful and proud to be part of the LCS community.

After enjoying a morning of socializing and devouring sweet treats, staff visited the Learning Commons to collect gift bags containing locally sourced products, including candles, jam, chocolate, and other sweet treats, providing our faculty and staff with something tangible to remember the occasion by. Everyone was also grateful to receive an added surprise gift—gift cards to local restaurants—donated by an alumnus for each and every staff member.

Overall, the LCS Faculty and Staff appreciation event was a resounding success, showcasing the strong bonds between our faculty, staff, parents, and students. It was a reminder of the incredible things that can be achieved when we all work together. The generosity of the LCS community made this event an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
