LCS Students Host Winter Fun Day for Newcomer Families
Last week, our campus came alive with the joyful sounds of over 100 people participating in our second Winter Fun Day of the year. Students across all grade levels eagerly welcomed newcomer families, to create unforgettable memories through a series of quintessential Canadian winter activities. From snowshoeing through glittery snowscapes to making sweet, sticky maple taffy, to playing friendly games of broomball, everyone had a blast. And what better way to end a cool winter day than roasting s'mores around a cozy campfire?
At LCS, community involvement is at the heart of what we do. We believe in the power of service learning to instill a lifelong commitment to compassion and generosity in our students. Winter Fun Day is just one example of the many ways we strive to give back and connect with the wider community.
Thank you to our neighbours and friends at the New Canadians Centre for joining us. Our students thoroughly enjoyed sharing their campus and favourite activities with you!
