A Look Behind the Scenes of the Music Industry with Grove Records (ft. Rob Wells)

Before the March Break, students in our Grove Records co-curricular program worked with Canadian producer and songwriter Rob Wells to write, record, and produce original music. Students attended two workshops with Rob; one was to write a song (in less than 24 hours) and the second was to record the song.

We spoke with students to hear about their experiences in these workshops and in Grove Records.

“It’s such an amazing opportunity to work with Rob, to be able to work with someone who does this professionally is super inspiring.” - Ivy ’24

“I think the most enjoyable part of this process is while we’re songwriting, those moments of like YES, we did it. Or that was so cool. Everyone is spouting these random ideas and we all get excited about a cool lyric…I think it’s really cool that we share that aha moment.” - Isabelle ’23

They shared some of the highlights of their experience as they progress to the final stage of this co-curricular: releasing their finished songs! Stay tuned for the release of their new music in the coming weeks.
