Celebrating Triumphs: LCS Rowers Make a Memorable Comeback at National Regatta

Last weekend, the Lakefield College School Rowing team concluded an outstanding season with an impressive showing at the Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association Championships in St. Catharines.

This is the first time in many years that LCS has attended this national championship regatta and this year, we had our biggest number of athletes competing ever!
Despite the windy conditions, the team showcased their resilience and determination, achieving numerous personal bests. Special recognition goes to Morgan Harris-Stoertz ’24, who secured a remarkable 5th place finish in the highly competitive Senior Women's 63kg single event.

It is worth acknowledging the team's journey, as many members began their rowing experience as novices in the early spring. Their unwavering commitment to rigorous training at the Peterborough Rowing Club and their constant pursuit of improvement deserve praise. With their remarkable achievements this season, the team eagerly looks forward to the promising prospects that lie ahead in the 2023/24 school year!
