LCS Girls' Rowing Team Shines at Head of the Trent Regatta

Lakefield College School's women's quad showcased their unwavering determination and skill at the 2023 Head of the Trent Regatta. This dedicated team, comprising Ava Muench ’24, Morgan Harris-Stoertz ’24, Skye Harris-Stoertz ’24, Jane Orr ’24, and Doga Uzel ’24, has been rigorously training over the past few weeks, preparing for this event.

In a gruelling 5km race, our U19 women’s club quad displayed exceptional strength and teamwork, securing a spot in the top ten. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that these talented rowers have only recently come together as a team. Their synergy and determination were evident as they powered through the challenging course.

Later in the day, Morgan ’24 took on the challenge of the youth single event, displaying her individual prowess. Against stiff competition, she emerged victorious, finishing 7th overall!

Behind the scenes, our Girls' Rowing team showcased unparalleled commitment. It's noteworthy that these remarkable athletes balanced their rigorous rowing training with participation in their other fall co-curricular programs.

Looking ahead, the team is gearing up for winter training, aiming to enhance their skills and row even faster in the upcoming competitive spring season. Their ultimate goal is to represent LCS with pride at the Canadian High School Championships in St. Catharines.

Congratulations, rowers!
