Immersed in Theatre: LCS Students Flourish at Shaw Festival
This past week, 27 students from our Musical Theatre co-curricular embarked on a special trip to the Shaw Festival in Niagara. Thanks to Nancy Smith's generous support, they got to enjoy the holiday classic "A Christmas Carol" and the Lerner and Loewe classic "Brigadoon."
Our students didn't just watch; they gathered inspiration from these performances, attending workshops on stage combat and dancing to refine their skills. They even had Q&A sessions with members of the company. In between, they took some time to tour Niagara Falls and the village of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
It was a valuable experience for our students, providing them with a chance to immerse themselves in live theatre and learn from talented performers. The workshops helped them improve their skills and connect with the art of performance.
Interacting with the professionals during Q&A sessions allowed our students to gain insights into the industry. And, of course, exploring the scenic beauty of Niagara Falls and the charm of Niagara-on-the-Lake added a touch of adventure to the trip.
At LCS, we're passionate about nurturing talent and encouraging students to explore their interests. This trip was a great opportunity for our students to deepen their love for the arts and develop their confidence.
We're excited to see our students in action during this year's musical comedy, "Bullets Over Broadway," from February 27 to March 1, 2024. Join us in celebrating their journey and their dedication to the performing arts!
