We’re thrilled to share the success of this year’s Grade 11 Empty Bowls Fundraiser, a heartfelt initiative led by our LCV class to support local First Nations food banks. Through months of planning, creativity, and collaboration, our students raised an impressive $957 — a meaningful contribution to our wider community.
A Journey of Creativity and Collaboration
The Empty Bowls project was much more than a single event — it was a hands-on learning experience that unfolded over several months, showcasing the perseverance and teamwork of our Grade 11 students.
Opening Days: The journey began during Opening Days, when the students came together to handcraft ceramic bowls — each one unique and made with care.
October Intersession: During Intersession, students fired and glazed their creations, adding the final artistic touches. They also teamed up with Chef Evan to prepare homemade soups, bringing a culinary element to the project.
Parents Week Fundraiser: The initiative culminated during Parents Week, when students hosted the fundraiser and offered their beautifully crafted bowls paired with delicious soup to our community.
All proceeds from the event were donated to local First Nations food banks, reinforcing the spirit of compassion, connection, and giving back that defines the Empty Bowls movement.
We’re so proud of our Grade 11 students for their hard work, creativity, and commitment to making a difference. Thank you to everyone who supported this inspiring initiative!
