1st Girls’ Basketball

Coaches: Bill Bentley and John Braeckman

On Wednesday, the 1st Girls’ Basketball Team hosted St. Mildred's Lightbourn. As a result of a tight two-three zone defence and a patient offence, LCS dominated the entire game, defeating St. Mildred's 36-14. Lakefield College School’s leading scorer was Kate Carroll with 10. Dina El-Baradie and Katie Sullivan each added 8, Emily Keating and Dana Cooper had 4, and Abby Allen helped out with 2. With the win, the girls improve their record to 4 and 0.

1st Boys’ Volleyball

Coaches: Jon Houston and Chrissy Arnold

On Wednesday, the 1st Boys’ Volleyball Team travelled to Albert College to play their third regular season game. The rambunctious Albert team came out of the gates quickly, and although some tough serves from Mathias Dutil and some big kills from Matt Chi kept it close, the first set was eventually lost.

The second set went better, with more consistent serving and some timely blocks resulting in the win. The third and forth sets saw some back and forth battles keep it close, with some good digs and a big net presence from Will Lawler and Brian Bunting. Although there were many positives to draw from the game, in the end the boys could not find a way to overcome, and eventually fell to Albert 3 sets to 1.
