Celebrating the Class of 2025: Charting Diverse and Inspiring Paths Around the World

As the school year draws to a close, Lakefield College School is proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of the Class of 2025—both for the exceptional year they have had within our community and for their outstanding success in the post-secondary admissions process. This year’s graduating class not only submitted a record number of applications—over 1,200 to nearly 150 institutions—but also earned an impressive range of offers from top universities across Canada and around the world.

From business and engineering to creative arts and global studies, our students pursued diverse and ambitious academic paths. Offers came in from every major Canadian university and a range of prestigious U.S. and international institutions, including Northwestern, Northeastern, U Miami, UCLA, University of Southern California, King’s College London, University College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, University of Amsterdam and Adelaide University. Applications to interdisciplinary and dual-degree programs such as PPE, Business & Computer Science, and Law & Arts reflect students' deep curiosity and passion for meaningful, future-focused learning.

The results speak for themselves. Over 700 offers were extended to this year’s graduates, with Queen’s University, UBC, the University of Toronto, and Dalhousie among the most popular destinations. 70% of the class are choosing to attend a Canadian university. Globally-minded and adventurous, 15% of students are headed to ten different countries including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, and 11% to the United States. Nearly 8% of the class will pursue a gap year—a notable increase from previous years—demonstrating students' growing comfort in taking alternative, intentional next steps.
Scholarship success was equally remarkable: the Class of 2025 earned more than $3.13 million in merit-based awards, with 18 students receiving over $50,000 CAD each.

As our graduates prepare to launch from The Grove, they carry forward the values, skills, and resilience of leaders ready to contribute in an ever-changing world.

Congratulations, Class of 2025! We can’t wait to see where your journeys lead.
