Celebrating Exceptional Dedication, Advisor of the Year, at the Ontario Student Leadership Conference

We are thrilled to announce a momentous achievement recognizing the exceptional dedication of our staff member, Tobey Gullick-Scott, during the recent Ontario Student Leadership Conference (OSLC) held in Niagara Falls, Ontario. OSLC is recognized as the largest and longest multi-day Leadership Conference in Canada.

We are incredibly proud to share that Tobey Gullick-Scott was presented with the prestigious Advisor of the Year Award.

The presentation of the award was executed as a total surprise, successfully pulled off by both the school and Peregrine Leadership. The ceremony featured the reading of a heartfelt student tribute from Jenna Quinn ’26, Co-head student, which was delivered in front of 2500 students, instantly bringing tears to Mrs. Gullick-Scott.

This distinguished award is given in recognition of exceptional dedication to student success and leadership development. It honors an individual who demonstrates unwavering commitment and vision, continually going above and beyond to empower today's students as tomorrow's positive impactful leaders of Canada.

The powerful sentiment behind the award was captured perfectly in the student speech that celebrated Ms. Gullick-Scott's profound impact on the Lakefield College School community. Students who know Ms. Gullick-Scott understand what it feels like to be cared for, supported, and pushed to be their best self.
Highlights from the tribute emphasized her focus on prioritizing students and drawing joy from their growth and excitement. She is described as someone who is filled with happiness every time and who seems to know exactly what students need. Her dedication extends to focusing on every student's well-being and learning, a commitment described as unlike anything the students have ever experienced.

The speech also highlighted her contagious energy, noting that she was the heart of her Grade 11 class last year, serving as their mentor. She is recognized for pushing students to "see the positive, to find joy in challenges, and to embody the same contagious energy she’s brought to OSLC year after year".
Ms. Gullick-Scott has attended the OSLC conference many times and loves seeing the magical and powerful impact created when 2,000 students come together in Niagara Falls. Her selflessness and genuine nature reflect who she is, someone who always puts students first.

We congratulate Tobey Gullick-Scott on this well-deserved recognition and thank her for inspiring students "to be authentically, wholeheartedly you".
