Congratulations to Our 2026 Peter Dalglish Award Winner: Ansheng Zhou ’26
Lakefield College School is proud to announce Grade 12 student, Ansheng Zhou as this year’s recipient of the prestigious Peter Dalglish Award. Each year, the award is presented to a senior student who demonstrates exceptional artistic vision, skill, and initiative through a major creative project that reflects the theme, “What Lakefield College School Means to Me.”
As this year’s SIC of Visual Arts, Ansheng has been a vibrant leader within the LCS arts community—mentoring peers, inspiring creative exploration, and encouraging students to push the boundaries of their artistic practice. With aspirations to pursue Digital Media Design at the post-secondary level, she continues to demonstrate both discipline and bold innovation.
For her Dalglish project, Ansheng will create a multimedia artwork that blends airbrushing, oil painting, and an augmented reality component—an ambitious fusion of traditional technique and emerging digital art. By incorporating animation and visual effects through AR, her work will illuminate the personal meaning and emotional landscape of life at Lakefield in a fresh and immersive way.
To be considered for the award, applicants submitted a letter of intent, a portfolio of previous work, and a preliminary concept responding to the annual theme. The selection committee was impressed by Ansheng’s thoughtful artistic proposal, technical vision, and dedication to evolving her craft.
We look forward to unveiling the completed piece—to be formally presented to Ms. Kee at Closing Ceremonies in June.
Please join us in congratulating Ansheng on this remarkable accomplishment. Her creativity, leadership, and passion for the arts continue to enrich the LCS community and inspire those around her.
