Wellbeing House Leaders Strengthen Peer Support Skills Through Be There Training

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, our Wellbeing House Leaders participated in Be There training, facilitated by Sasha Lechtzier, a passionate mental health advocate and past Jack.org Chapter President at Queen’s University.

The session provided leaders with practical tools to recognize when a peer may be struggling and to respond with care, clarity, and appropriate support. Participants practiced listening without judgment, speaking openly about mental health, and connecting peers with helpful resources.

This training equips Wellbeing House Leaders to foster supportive and compassionate House communities throughout the year, ensuring that students feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported. By strengthening these peer-to-peer skills, LCS continues to prioritize student wellbeing and nurture a culture of empathy and care across campus.
