Ondaatje Medal Challenge: Run — And We’re Off!

The 2025 Ondaatje Challenge is officially underway! The series kicked off on Tuesday, April 22 with the 10km Run Challenge, and 27 determined students hit the pavement on a beautiful spring evening to test their endurance and start their journey toward the Ondaatje Medal.

This event wasn’t just about the distance — it was also about community. Students cheered each other on, dug deep, and crossed the finish line with pride (and maybe a bit of sweat).

To qualify for the Ondaatje Medal, students must complete each leg of the challenge within 10 percent of the 10-year average winning time for their gender.

The Standards of Excellence for 2025 are:
  • 10km Run Male: 43:43
  • 10km Run Female: 52:41
Congratulations to all runners!
