K-Rod 2024

On Tuesday, February 6, Lakefield College School's annual tradition, Katchewanooka Rod (K-Rod), lit up Matthews Field with excitement. This unique take on the Iditarod saw teams of six students from each paper house compete in sprint races, with one musher leading the charge.

The rules were simple yet thrilling—teams had to cross the finish line with all members present, either riding on the sled or pulling it themselves. The energy on the field was infectious as students embraced the challenge and cheered on their fellow classmates.

But the fun didn't stop there. The evening was punctuated with a dazzling fireworks display, marking the end of a memorable night of winter festivities.

K-Rod isn't just about competition; it's about coming together as a community to celebrate the season and enjoy the outdoors. With music filling the air and spirits high, it's a time to connect and create lasting memories with one another.

Congratulations to this year's winners:
1st Place: Pullen
2nd Place: Lefevre
3rd Place: Sheldrake
4th Place: Mackenzie

As we reflect on another successful Katchewanooka Rod, we're reminded of the joy and camaraderie that define the LCS experience. Here's to many more memorable moments to come.
