A Movember to Remember

By Mo Bro Doucet

MOvember is coming to an end and the LCS Mighty MOs team is giving one last push to start conversations and raise money for Men's Health (Prostate and Testicular Cancer, Mental Health and most recently MOve - keeping physically active).

As 1 of only 20 High School Athletic Clubs in the country, we are proud to say that we've had group activities once a week to help promote active choices! But that's not all - we've had so many events and students and staff have been so amazing - they've truly made this MOvember one to Remember!

We have 82 members on our LCS Mighty MOs team - an all time high for MOvember participation at LCS. We've raised $5,689 so far and are in second place in the High School Wispy Lips Challenge behind LCC who won it last year!

So far, we've asked MO Bros and MO Sistas to duct tape themselves to the wall, we've had MO Bros donate their leg hair for charity in Rip and Strip, we sold out our Bake Sale and we in teams of 10 we pulled a FireTruck 15m to see who could do it the fastest! Here's a video of the action!

With only a few days left, MO Bro Robertson has been given a donation to Shave It - he will be shaving his MO early! On MOnday we'll be having a full day of Moustachery - #MoustacheMonday! Students will also be jumping into the lake for our annual MOlar Bear Dip. A big thanks to Mike and the team at RotoSpa for helping us warm up afterwards! (His tubs are awesome if you're ever looking to rent one.)

We'll be ending the month with some awards that we'll post on our Facebook page. The Best MO for staff and students, the SloMO for staff and students and Top Fundraiser! Please keep an eye out for a poll to help us decide these awards! You can see team MOs on the LCS Mighty MOs team page to see where people are at!

So if you care to support the LCS MO Bros and MO Sistas please donate by visiting our Team Page - linked above. More importantly, have those hard conversations with the MO Bros in your life about their health and let's all enjoy a little more spent together!

Thanks to everyone who participated, helped organize events and baked goodies for the sale. It's been a great run this year! Until 2016, this is MO Bro Doucet signing off!
