Visiting the Shaw Festival

By Geoff Bemrose

Thanks to LCS Foundation Trustee Nancy Smith's generosity, we were able to travel to the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake again this fall with some of our cast and crew from our upcoming production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

Over the course of two action-packed days we saw three shows: Sweeney Todd (The classic Sondheim Musical), George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession and Alice and Wonderland (a reimagined world premiere at Shaw).

The students were also able to participate in backstage tours, have question and answer sessions and workshops with professional actors (including LCS alumnus Patrick McManus ’88) and crew members at the Shaw.

It was a fantastic experience and the students learned a lot about the professional theatre world.

We are looking forward to presenting The Drowsy Chaperone in the Bryan Jones Theatre at LCS, November 22 - 25.
