Learning from an Expert

By Derek Doucet

The 1st Boys’ Basketball team had the esteemed privilege of getting a training session with former National team captain Jesse Young.

Throughout the session, the 6 foot 10 inch coach put the athletes through various drills to better develop their fundamental skills, their fitness and their general basketball IQ. It was great to have such a high level former player and now coach aid in the development on our young athletes as they engage in the Train to Train stage of the Long Term Athlete Development model (LTAD).

The 1st Boys’ Basketball team  is off to Burlington to take part in the Small School Showcase Basketball Tournament for the first time. Stay up to date on tournament going-ons by visiting the website or by following @SSSBasketball on Twitter or Instagram.

Thanks to Ian Armstrong who made the connections years ago and to Adam Ross for organizing this opportunity for the team.
