Reflecting through Connect/Extend/Challenge
Mr. Gilfillan's Grade 11 American History class was asked to reflect and discuss how their learning so far has connections to real-life experiences, through an activity called Connect/Extend/Challenge.
Students were presented with the following discussion prompts:
Discussions benefit from the wide range of backgrounds that students bring with them to the classroom. LCS students represent 45 countries around the world and are able to share their unique perspectives and individual experiences with their peers. This is an invaluable opportunity to listen and understand how others are impacted by current events.

- What new ideas from this experience have EXTENDED or pushed your thinking in new directions?
- What is still CHALLENGING or confusing for you to get your mind around? What questions, wonderings or puzzles do you now have?
