LCS Students Make Waves in the Euclid Math Contest

In April 2022, 16 highly motivated Grade 11 and 12 students put their knowledge and skills to the test as they wrote the Euclid Mathematics Contest. Our students wrote this contest both for their love of solving a good problem and to gain an edge in their admission decision with Waterloo. Simply writing the contest counts in a student’s favour but achieving highly can lead to a scholarship offer. 

At the end of May, the results from the competition were released. Please join us in congratulating the following students for their outstanding performance:

Jacobo de Juan Millón ’23 earned the top score at LCS, at an achievement level higher than a threshold determined by the University of Waterloo.

About the Euclid Mathematics Contest

The Euclid mathematics contest, organized by the University of Waterloo, has run for more than twenty years and is a highly respected forum in which students can demonstrate their advanced understanding of senior-level high school mathematics. There are 10 problems in the contest, each worth 10 points, requiring participants to provide both short answer and long answer responses where completeness, clarity, and style of presentation all count.
