Making a Difference One Meal at a Time | One Million Meals Peterborough

Lakefield College School students recently participated in the One Million Meals Campaign, a community initiative that aims to package and donate meals to those in need locally and globally. On a recent Saturday, the students travelled downtown Peterborough to help package meals, and their hard work paid off: they contributed to packaging a total of 53,000 meals in just one day!

Not only did the students lend their time and effort to the packaging process, but they also raised roughly $300 to help the organization purchase food and supplies. Their efforts will have a real-world impact on those in need of nutrition, in our community and around the world. Each meal pack contains a full day’s nutrition for six people. In recent years, meals have been delivered to Northern Ontario, Haiti, Cuba, and the Kawarthas.

Well done to all students involved! Your efforts will have a positive impact on our local community and beyond.
