Adam Bishop '04
Please join me in welcoming Adam back to the Grove. Adam returns to LCS as our new Alumni Relations Officer. He is a graduate of Lakefield College School and worked her as a residential supervisor, supply teacher, tutor and coach for two years.
Rachel Cazabon
Rachel will be joining us as an Assistant Head of House in Memorial House after completing her assignment at Rothesay Netherwood School in New Brunswick as a part-time Faculty member and Assistant Houseparent. Rachel has her B.Ed from St. Thomas University in Fredericton and has completed her B.A. at the University of New Brunswick.
Erica Chellew '95
Erica will be a familiar face to many of you. She is an LCS alum (and grew up on campus!). Erica taught English at Greenwood College School at a secondary level and has additional experiences in private and public boards. She has also acted as a tutor on the LCS campus the past few years. Erica has a Bachelor of Education degree from York University and completed her B.A. at Bishop's University.
Susy Farag
Susy will also be arriving this school year with experience teaching at the University Academy in Keighley, UK. Susy completed her Bachelor of Education degree at McGill University. Susy will be joining the residential program as the Assistant Head of Moodie House.
Kate Griffin
We are pleased to welcome Kate to the Health Centre as its new Administrative Assistant. Kate brings several medical office degrees along with a wealth of professional skills from the healthcare industry. Kate completed her diploma at Seneca College.
Jennifer Howell
Jennifer joins LCS as a Teaching Fellow after completing practicums in the Toronto District School Board following her studies this year at the University of Toronto where she obtained her Bachelor of Education degree. Jennifer also has a Master of Science degree (Organic Chemistry) from U of T and an undergraduate degree (Honours Chemistry) from the University of Guelph.
Danielle Labrosse
We are very pleased to confirm Danielle will be joining us next year as a teacher of French. Danielle has over 20 years of teaching experience and was most recently a teacher at École Secondaire Catholique Renaissance in Aurora where she developed and implemented the IB French program in Literature and Language. She has a Master of Arts degree (French Studies) from Queen’s University and completed her B.Ed. at Ottawa University.
Georgette Luthi
Georgette will be joining us as an Outdoor Education Assistant. Georgette brings many years of outdoor education experience and certifications with her from her posts in British Columbia, Alberta and Wrangell, Alaska. Georgette is a graduate from Mount Royal University in Calgary.
Ashley Matheson
Ashley has joined the Admissions team this fall for the year as an Administrative Assistant. Ashley brings many years of administrative experience with her and is a graduate of Loyalist College in Belleville.
Colin Morris:
Colin joined LCS as a Teaching Fellow this fall. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, where he also completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Physics, Math & Chemistry.
Borana Sarcevic
We are pleased to announce that Borana has accepted the offer as Assistant Head of Grove House. Borana has a B.Ed. from Queen’s University and as a side note has worked with CISS Lakefield Camp International for eight years, the last three as Assistant Director.
Tina St. John
Tina is joining us following experience teaching at Trafalgar Castle School as an English Teacher and as a House Leader in their residential program. She obtained her Bachelor of Education degree at Queen's University through their Concurrent program and has an Honours English B.A. from Trent University.
Emma Springford
Emma, of Springford Counselling and Consulting, has been awarded a three-year contract to supply counselling services for our students through the Health Centre. Emma has extensive experience as a counsellor working with children, adolescents, and their families, both as a private practitioner and for such organizations as Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, Hospice Peterborough, and the Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Sarah Thompson '06
Sarah also returns to The Grove having graduated from LCS in 2006. She has completed her B.Ed. (University of Ottawa) following undergraduate studies in French and Physical Education at Queen’s University.
Emily Todd
Please welcome Emily to her new post at Reception on Thursdays and Fridays. Emily will be with us on an interim basis until January, 2014 when she will return to university where she is studying nursing.
Brian Turner
Brian joins LCS as our new Director of Technology and Innovation in Learning. Brian joins us, having a diverse range of Teaching and Technology Systems roles from a number of Canadian and International Schools, most recently, the American Community School of Abu Dhabi. He has an undergraduate degree in History (McGill), his Bachelor of Education (Ottawa) as well as his Master of Education (Victoria). He is currently completing his Master of Science Degree in Computer Science.
Michael Vander Doelen
Please welcome Michael as our Assistant Head of House in Ondaatje. Michael is a graduate of both Queen’s and Brock Universities and has a post-graduate degree from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He brings a wealth of outdoor and leadership experience to the Grove.
Staff Changes:
Derek Doucet
Derek makes the move from teacher to Residential Head of Ryder House. Derek joins the residential community with his wife Erica, son Nigel and daughter Roxanna.
Adam Janssen
After a year as the Assistant Head of Ondaatje House, Adam has moved to the academic staff as a math teacher. We welcome him into his new role at LCS.
Jim McGowan
Jim transitions from head of a day student house to Residential Head of Matthews House. He is joined by his wife Kristeen and three children, Madia, Harper and Judd.
Sarah McNamara
Sarah returns to LCS in her third year as a Residential Assistant, moving from Assistant Head of Moodie House to School Life Assistant.
Leslie Schumacher '06
Leslie is a familiar face and a returning staff member from our residential team. She will be joining our Teaching Fellow program to further develop her professional skills and to support our academic programming. In addition to being an LCS Alum, Leslie completed her B.Ed. at Queen’s University (Biology & History) following her completion of the Queen’s/Trent Concurrent Education program at Trent University. We are very pleased to see her return.
Pat Sinka
We are very pleased to announce that Pat Sinka has made the transition from Reception to the Guidance Office where she now works as the Clerical Assistant, University Guidance & Academic Reports.
