A Busy Grove Society Fall

By Lara MacGregor, Grove Society Parent Chapter President

Fall has flown by! The Parent Chapter of the Grove Society has been very busy planning and organizing great events for the LCS community. Two super pub nights brought together parents from across the globe to socialize in a relaxed, fun environment. We had a wonderful day for Fall Fair at the end of September with lots of fun activities for kids and great treats for adults. We can't thank our generous donors enough for the fantastic baked goods and Grove baskets! Parents were also provided a further opportunity to meet at the Grade 9/10 and Grade 11/12 receptions during the weekend of Fall Fair.

On Friday, December 2, we celebrated the holiday season with our annual Christmas Gathering held in the beautifully decorated A.W. Mackenzie Chapel and Upper Hadden Hall. Parents and friends enjoyed an informative and highly entertaining program presented by the students and faculty. Guests also enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by the LCS Aramark team.

Thank you to all of the dedicated Parent Volunteers who work tirelessly on these events and support the school with Admissions Open Houses and decorating.

Please mark your 2017 calendars with the next Parent Pub Night at Smithaven's Brewery in Peterborough on Wednesday, February 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m. We are also starting plans for the popular Through the Red Door parent event on Saturday, April 8 where participants experience a day in the life of an LCS student.  We are looking for volunteers to work on the plans for this great day plus ongoing support for Welcome Calls, the Replay Shop and Open Houses. Please visit the Grove Society website for more information about our events and volunteer opportunities.

Thank you for your generous support of the Grove Society and all the best to your families for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
