Valdy Returns to LCS

Valdy is among The Grove’s many storied alum. Born Paul Valdemar Horsdal, he attended Lakefield College School in the 50s/60s and shortly after graduation began an immensely successful career as entertainer, singer, songwriter and guitarist. He has been nominated for seven Juno awards and won two; as won Folk Singer of the Year and Folk Entertainer of the Year. He has recorded 14 albums and enjoyed a number of hit songs. In 2011, he was appointed a member of the Order of Canada.

On February 2, Valdy will return to Lakefield and perform in the Bryan Jones Theatre as part of the season series of shows presented by Performing Arts Lakefield (PAL), a local organization that has been presenting nationally and internationally acclaimed artists at LCS for more 20 years. Not surprisingly, the show is sold-out.

This will be the second time that PAL has brought Valdy home to Lakefield. He looks forward to seeing the many changes and improvements since his last visit. As he did on his last visit, he hopes to arrange at time to interact with music students in a master class.
