2018/19 Co-Head Students Announced

The election to select the Co-Head Students for the 2018/19 year was held this week.

Max Brandes and Emilia Voudouris were elected by their peers and staff in the vote that took place on Tuesday morning. Both Max and Emilia are excited about being selected as Co-Head Students and they are looking forward to leading the student body next year.

Emilia noted in her candidate speech, “It sounds cliche, but I am the person I am today thanks to each and every one of you. You have helped me grow into the best version of myself, and I couldn’t be more grateful - it is thanks to all the inspiring, motivating people I have had the opportunity to meet, and I realize I would love to be able to do that for others. I want to make sure everyone that comes through those red doors feels like this school is a second home. Regardless of whose hands were in, we're going to have a strong student leadership team, and I can’t wait to see where this next year takes us!”

In Max’s candidate speech he reflected, “Over the course of my two years at The Grove, Lakefield has changed me and given me so much. Lakefield has allowed me to become the best version of myself. Now, I want to take advantage of this opportunity by giving back to the community...Lakefield is about the friendly and helpful way of life, the variety of programs, classes and events and most importantly it is about people – students and staff.”

The school community is also grateful for the participation of the other candidates in the election. Claire Campbell, Ella Shanahan-Guay, Mitch Stedman and David Williams are to be commended for their service to the school. We look forward to the leadership by entire Class of 2019 next year!
