Your Weekend and Leave

Your Weekend

On Saturdays, you will have one class in the morning and sports in the afternoon. Sundays are restful, reserved for sleeping-in, informal sports and boarding activities, and studying.

The weekends are also filled with a lot of fun activities, including Friday night coffee houses and other spirit events, Saturday night dances, intramural sports, shopping and movie trips and boarding house events.

On Quiet Weekends when there are no Saturday classes, you will have the opportunity to go home, take advantage of a school-arranged outing, or enjoy a restful stay on campus.

For more information on the weekend schedule at Lakefield College School, please refer to the Daily Schedule.

Your Leave

“Leave” means that you are leaving the Lakefield College School campus for any number of reasons, such as a walk to the village, an off-campus appointment, a movie night or a school trip.

The Village of Lakefield is located just north of Peterborough, Ontario. It is surrounded by beautiful lakes, bicycle trails, forest, fields, and lots of outdoor fun. Just a few minutes’ walk from the Lakefield College School campus, you can enjoy shopping, hair and spa services, movie rentals and other recreational activities in a community atmosphere. You have the opportunity to walk to the village after classes and before dinnertime throughout the week, and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

You will also have the opportunity to travel to the city of Peterborough, usually on the weekend, to go to the movies, do some mall shopping, and enjoy meals at restaurants.

All weekend, overnight and special leaves are arranged through your Head of House and parents.
