Are You Smarter Than a 9th Grader?

It was time that the age old questioned had to be asked of the senior students, Are you smarter than a 9th grader? On Friday, April 14, the Bryan Jones Theatre was filled with students of all grades to compete in an LCS paper house based edition of the classic gameshow "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.”The questions that were asked pertained to five categories of grade 9 curriculum; Math, English, Science, Civics and OE. Students found the event to be harder than they may have originally thought, with some tough questions --leaving both the audience and participants stumped--surrounding politics and Canadian trivia. At the end of the day Mackenzie took home the win, beating Lefevre house by a slim margin of 300 points.
Hypnotist

Last Saturday night, the students watched as Casey St. Jones worked his magic on over 20 Lakefield College School students. Coming back to The Grove again, Mr. St. Jones used his power of persuasion to make students drive boats, tan on sandy beaches and even run for president of the United States. It was an amazing night with lots of laughs, we cannot wait to have him back next year.
Dodgeball

Dodgeball got rowdy at the Grade vs Grade Challenge. The Grade 12s took home wins against the Grade 11s in back to back games. The Grade 9s and 10s battled hard, with the Grade 10s coming to an eventual victory. Fun was had by all. It was a great night of dodgeball!
