After a fabulous year, the Grade 10 Spanish class finished with a Jr. Master Chef Challenge in the kitchen where they were placed into groups and given the serious task of making the most delicious and most beautiful empanada! With a variety of ingredients to choose from, some chose to make sweet empanadas filled with chocolate and cinnamon, while others made more traditional ones stuffed with cheese, peppers and corn. Some were fried, some were baked, but all were very tasty! Gracias a todos for a all your hard work!
This week the Grade 9 Extended French class moved outside of the classroom and into the kitchen to learn how to make Tarte Tatin. This classic French tart is an upside-down pastry containing delicious caramelized apples. The Grade 9s learned to make a pâte brisée as well as a traditional caramel sauce. They came together, worked hard and their efforts paid off because they created a beautiful and incredibly delicious tarte Tatin!
